Knee injuries are particularly problematic, aren’t they? If you or someone you love is suffering from knee pain, there is a very good chance I can help them on their path to knee pain relief. Many times, knee pain could actually be referred pain from either a low back injury and/or a foot and ankle injury. Many times when a patient has flat feet (over-pronation during ambulation), it usually does cause knee pain. The pain is on the insides of the knees in that case. Usually, with flat feet, the knee pain is chronic and “always there.” The pain doesn’t come from a single isolated event, rather a lifetime of aching, deep pain especially when standing or involved in sporting activities. There is an easy fix for that case. Other times, a torn meniscus and/or ACL tear or injury is the culprit, and cases like this are outside the scope of our practice. In this case, we refer to orthopedics to take over. At times, we do the physical therapy while the MD offers additional help that we don’t offer in our office.
